seven years ago today, Master and i first moved in together. You're confusing two very different issues. A person can be a Master (or Mistress) and still bottom. The decision is up to the Master as to how he receives his pleasure from his submissive. In my case, there are times when I feel the urge to get stuffed full of my slave's big dick, so I force him to fuck me. That's a really hard question because there are a lot of happy moments. For instance, I'm quite happy when my pup slave curls up in my lap on the sofa. However, I can say that the one thing that makes me constantly happy is the fact that I have responsibility for my slave, and that his life has been made richer and fuller because of that. As for what I struggle with - that's also interesting. I grew up in a passive-aggressive family and I have tended towards it myself as an adult. That has probably been my biggest struggle as a Master - avoiding those "taught" tendencies of my past. I'm a Master - there is absolutely no reason to beat around the bush. I want it, I get it. Simple.

I practice chastity on my own slave. I believe that a slave's sexual pea sure should come from no other source than his/her Master. I think by building a relationship you would likely find a candidate that will want to travel - I imagine it would be difficult to find one who wants to travel right off the bat without a connection and some definition of roles (that can be generated in a relatively "neutral" place - either at home or a public space). However, I would just make sure to make it very clear that any slave that fully submits to you will be required to be on the road with you as well.

I honestly think this would be the best route. I am naturally not a very violent person. And truth be told, I would say I have never been "violent" with my slave. I make it a point to separate my "anger" from frustration. I usually vent my anger instead of focusing it on my slave.

Honestly, that's just not fair. BUT as I vent my anger (verbally) I tend to get frustrated. And I DO take my frustrations out on my slave - either in the form of flogging or paddling, or sometimes just rough throat or ass fucking - until I'm relieved. He enjoys being the conduit for the release of my frustration.

So, even during the times I'm venting some frustration with the flogger, I would never say it's violent. That's just not part of my make-up, nor part of the relationship I have fostered with my slave.

in honor of the near shutdown of our entire, stupid government, i thought i'd take a look at the forces that are truly behind these so-called budget talks. there is a growing income inequality crises in america establishing new rules of class and social warfare, all disguised as "politics as usual." nobel prize winning economist joseph stiglitz puts it best: "...a big part of the reason we have so much inequality is that the top 1 percent want it that way."

since 1980, middle class wages have largely stagnated and lower class wages have declined, while the upper echelons of american society have seen a windfall. a study by university of california, berkeley professor emmanuel saez found that, as of 2007, the top decile of american earners pull in 49.7 percent of total wages in america - higher than any other year since 1917.

in the fourth quarter of 2010, profits at american corporations were up an astounding 29.2 percent, the fastest growth in more than 60 years. collectively, these corporations logged profits at an annual rate of $1.678 trillion. the median pay for top executives at 200 major companies was $9.6 million last year - a 12 percent increase over 2009 (according to a study conducted for the new york times by the equilar compensation consulting firm). meanwhile, this money is obviously not being invested in the economy or trickling down to the lower level employees because unemployment still hovers around 8.8% or more every month and job dissatisfaction is at a record high.

the point is that we, as americans, need to start questioning this stuff. sadly, however, the ideas of globalization and corporate conglomerates is over the heads of most mid-to-low level income makers in america. it's much easier to blame planned parenthood or pbs than it is to discuss the reality that global corporations hold more power than governments, are not held accountable for the amounts that they make, do not funnel it back into the economy and act as gatekeepers of information by manipulating the truth through congress members and media outlets.

i thought i'd answer the most "controversial" question first. i have a few thoughts on this:

Master is in no way or form a "dictator." if you had read through this blog, you would have seen that i am quite an opinionated little puppy. in fact, click on the "politics" and "slave journal" tabs to the right and you'll notice that i have multitudes of opinions on the world and the lifestyle i live. and if you read deeper into the blog, you'll find that Master encourages such things from me. one of my main functions in Master's life is to act as a sounding board for Master and to offer honest opinion and conversation. Master values my intelligence, my passion and even my sometimes ornery nature and has no need for a mindless gimp (except on occasion). in fact, Master tends to allows and encourage this much more than most Masters. like anything in life, i'd encourage you to do some research and know what it is you are talking about before making such pointedly assumptive comments.

your question does raise a fantastic point for slaves seeking a Master though - it stresses the importance of "trying out" several different Doms until a slave agrees to be collared. as a slave, your Master is not only responsible for the physical aspects of one's life, but also the mental and emotional ones. therefore, it's incredibly important to find a Master that closely matches the morality and intellect of your own. you need to be able to trust that Master will make proper decisions that align with your own core values, otherwise you will consistently battle yourself when such decisions are made for you. while my brother was in town, i took him to fort tryon and the cloisters. our father was a history graduate, so both my brother and i have an instilled fascination with such things as history and politics. so, these locations seemed fitting.

fort trying in the highest natural peak in manhattan. it's located towards the northern tip of manhattan, near where Master and i live, so it is convenient. admittedly, most people have never heard of it and don't know of anything above harlem - tourists and residents alike. it has a commanding view of the hudson & harlem river, the george washington bridge, the new jersey palisades and is surrounded by beautiful heather gardens (although spring was just barely starting to arrive when we were there).

fort tryon, itself, played a role in the early revolutionary war. manhattan was considered the ket port in america, so the british quickly targeted seizing control of it. 8,000 invading british troops chased george washington and 2,900 american troops up the length of manhattan island. fort tryon is where they made their last stand, before eventually fleeing in terror to new jersey and the bronx. in a park closer to where Master and i live is a place called "the devil's whirlpool," which is where several panicked and fleeing american troops were swept away to their death by the angry hudson river. after the battle, fort tryon was named so after the last british governor of the province of new york, sir william tryon.

ironically, i don't have a photo of the fort, but i have several views from the fort. as you can see, it's quite a beautiful place with a fantastic view of the island - hence the strategic stronghold.

through the trees, you can see our next destination: the cloisters. but, fret not, i'll save that history lesson for another day...

a visit from my brother

my brother visited last weekend. i feel rather indifferent about it, but that's nothing new when it comes to my brother. he and i have never been all that close, but we are not strangers either. we've just always hovered somewhere on the outskirts of one another's realm of existence. i'm not certain that that is a good or bad thing - it just is what it is.

i always try to "get to know" my brother better but i'm starting to think that maybe there is nothing more to know about him. not everyone has a deep well of self definition and struggle. i think his well is deep enough that he discusses politics and movies and his job, but shallow enough that concepts of love and spirituality just don't really register. that's not saying he is dumb or anything, he's just a new and naive soul. which is rather ironic, since i am his younger brother by four years.

one thing i did learn, however, is that my brother is apparently a hypochondriac. W/we all did a bit of drinking the night before and, the next morning, my brother was feeling lightheaded. instead of simply going with it, he basically had a panic attack on the subway and Master, my brother and myself spent the next two hours at a starbucks while he nervously debated whether or not to go to urgent care. finally, Master convinced him that he should just go back to O/our apartment and relax, which is what W/we did. sure enough, he was feeling better soon. later, Master was joking with me that He really had to hold back His dominant side or He would have taken control of the situation and forced a decision for my brother. it seem that all the kids of my family need the stern guidance of a Dominant. probably something worth pondering in another post someday.

Master and i tried something new with this visit - W/we left out all O/our kink gear. after O/our last trip to ohio, Master and i just don't care all that much anymore about any potential family disapproval or opinions. answer:

the simplest answer is also the most complex. i am incomplete without it. serving and existing for Master is the only way i've found to make sense of my life and to function to the best of my capabilities. it truly is essential to my life and well-being, like the air i breathe.

scene subs and slaves are, for the most part, in it for the pre-determined amount of time and for some kind of physical or emotional release. i applaud that and encourage everyone to explore in such ways. for me, however, it goes far beyond the bedroom. sex is wonderful and i absolutely love pleasing Master, but it is not my main reason for being a slave - it's the structure and purpose that it gives me in my everyday life.

i started understanding this while Master and i were transitioning from a vanilla couple to O/our current state. i realized that all the things Master is - His personality, His structure, His sexual passions, His joys - fit directly into place and filled in the gaps of my own, like missing pieces of a puzzle i was never able to solve. i realized that He rounded me out and helped me to remain focused, remain true to my core and to be happy. these are all things i severely struggled with on my own. I came to the realization that everything about U/us made perfect sense - W/we were the other's missing puzzle pieces. i was born to serve Him and only through Him would i ever fully understand what it means to live.

it is not something I feel i have a choice about or could turn off and on, like a scene sub. it guides and defines everything i am and everything i could ever hope to be.

What are some little things you do for Master that he doesn't necessarily ask for, but earn you extra snuggles?

answer:

a year or so ago, i took a slavery class on "assumptive slavery" basically, once you've been an owned slave for many years, it becomes the slave's job to pay close attention to all the things that Master does and start taking action to make His life even easier and more enjoyable. for example, if Master has a favorite series of books, the slave should take it upon himself to read them (in the allowed time, of course) so that He can discuss them with His slave. or, if a slave notices that Master prefers to always hang His clothes a certain direction, the slave should start doing so. the idea behind this is that once You have served under a Master for several years, He no longer needs to spell out every single order. the slave should pay attention to His non-spoken preferences.

this, however, can be dangerous territory because a slave is not a mind reader and should never be expected to be. if a Master expects something, then He should always verbalize it and never expect a slave to simply just know. this is why assumptive slavery should only be considered after the Master and slave have multiple years under their belt together. even then, the Master should remember that this is an attempt for the slave to make Master's life easier and should not be confused with an official command until Master deems it so.

that being said, i do several such things for Master. some of which He knows about, many of which He doesn't. and i prefer to keep it that way. i don't know that i necessarily want Master to be fully aware of some of the things i do, because im not doing it for recognition or reward. im doing them to make Master's life easier. and I don't want Master to suddenly become self aware about the things i do to ensure His life is pleasant and stress-free.

answer:

yes, i would. Master and i have a very honest level of communication and i see no reason to lie and tell Him that i like something that i don't. of course, i would be very respectful about it and thank Him, but i would want Him to be aware of my personal tastes towards it. no reason to waste money by having Him order it for me again in the future. unless He wants me to learn to like it for Him, then that's a different story.

i get in trouble when i directly disobey an order or expectation. by disobeying a direct order, this mean that i ignored or forgot about a preference or need that Master has basically signed into law. this is unacceptable. i have the incredible honor of living in Master's household and existing for Him. by being so careless, it sends a signal to Master that i either did not fully understand the original command or that i didn't care enough to obey. either one deserves intense punishment to ensure that i do not disobey or forget ever again.

the example you gave, however, is only human nature. i imagine Master would simply make me return to the store to get whatever it was i forgot. when i discussed this question with Master, He simply said, "But that's not something you do. you never forget things from the store, so playing what-if is irrelevant." enough said, i suppose.

august 2010, the lgbt community started boycotting target and their stores due to their massive contributions to anti-gay, conservative politicians - including some who support the execution of gay americans. this boycott was furthered when target abruptly ended their meeting with hrc and moveon.org, showing no remorse or interest in amending the situation for their gay customers.

since that time, target's stock fell, their q4 earnings missed their projections and stars such as lady gaga and ricky martin have terminated their contracts with the corporation in favor of lgbt rights. the "boycott target" campaign has become a main focus of both hrc and moveon.org, inspiring protests outside of many target locations.

so, what's a massive, bigoted corporation to do? file a lawsuit and sue the gay rights groups, of course. the lawsuit, filed last week, claims that the mere presence of lgbt members on their premisses are "driving away core customers" because they represent something other than "family values," which is the only customer base they can really hope for now that the gay community have pulled their funds. sadly, the corporation doesn't even have the balls to claim that these boycotts have effected business and make a valid point - instead, they are furthering the bullshit.

it will be very interesting to see how this plays out. last month, the supreme court of the united states declared that the westboro church is constitutionally protected by the first amendment to continue protesting lgbt funerals and spreading their hurtful message of hate. does that same first amendment protection apply to gay groups protesting major corporations, or do the laws somehow shift when a lot of money and corporate influence is involved? or is homophobic sentiment still strong enough in our government that they are willing to protect the hat speech but not the gay community that it is being spewed at?

so, keep it up everyone. keep boycotting target and their bullshit ways. the boycotts are obviously having an effect on their bottomline and they are trying to weasel their way out of a tight spot. corporations should never underestimate the power of the expendable gay dollar. and even if the prostest and boycot are dubbed "illegal" - fuck them - this is a protest. it's about standing up for what it right and influencing the way target does business. no one ever said it would be easy or "legal".

Great question - I think I might ask my slave to answer this one as well. You raise something that is probably greatly contested in this community. So instead of trying to be diplomatic and giving you all the possible answers to this question that might be argued, I'm going to tell you what I believe. Simple as that.

I believe that everyone in this community (both Masters and slaves) must h ave something inside of them - some innate need or desire to become a Master or a slave. Without that, there's only so much training a person can go through before they ultimately reach a threshold and can go no further. Those with the calling to serve or accept service can take that to a higher realm of understanding, acceptance, awareness and connection.

Yet the question specifically about a slave...I think it's a sliding scale depending on the person. Some slaves seem born with the abilities to serve, yet others seem to need much more guidance and training. And I'm not sure it's a fair question - because a slave who truly desires to serve might not always have the tools necessary to become the slave they want to be - and that's when a Master steps in for guidance and control. In fact, the most advanced slave, proficient in all types of service, will need completely retrained should they begin to service another Master.

So, in truth, a slave's training is only complete when a Master deems it so - and I can't ever imagine a time when I might think "my slave is fully trained" because there is always room for growth, adaptation, change and exploration.

I know I'm jumping around a bit, so let me try to be succinct here at the end of my answer. I believe a slave is born to serve. I believe a Master is born to accept service and give control. Everything else just serves to help them reach their true, authentic self as either a Master or slave - including research, guidance and training.

I used to have different collars that my slave would wear. However, ever since I put a permanent chain collar on him, that's the only one he wears. CONTRACTS

Make sure you know what you're getting into before you leap, both Masters and slaves. A contact will help you define the extent and limitations of your relationship. Make it specific - number of times to play each week/month, dress code, etc. And make an end date that is SOON - first contracts should be just for the weekend. If it works out, create a new one that lasts a week. If you need to change something in the contract, DO IT at the end of the week and then create a new one for a month. The purpose of a contract is to ensure that you are both getting what you need out of the experience.

Take this all with a grain of salt, but I would never imagine collaring a slave unless we had a history together. I would need to be sure of his service and sure of his desire to serve me. So, to be completely honest, it sounds like the two of you weren't working. I just urge you to take further initiative before offering your service to someone else full time. Make sure it's what you want and that you can get what you need - AND that you can offer exactly what the Master wants. If a Master wants only 2 visits every 6 months and you need more, then DON'T enter into an agreement.

i took this shot towards the end of the night. it's the drag queen host, waiting to go onstage, while overhead you can see the shadow of two acrobats preparing for their bit. oddly, this was rather symbolic of the experience altogether. coming from a theater and music background (which is where i met Master), i realized that sex shows and events like these are just another form of it. porn stars are entertainers, acting to get you off. yet, backstage, they take lunch breaks like everyone else, get worn out like everyone else, rehearse like everyone else and depend on stage equipment and lighting cues to enhance the scene they bring to you. interestingly, it's just another show...a hot one, but a show...

so, the things i learned this weekend are: my new job is pretty cool and often times fascinating. being around that much sex is hot, but work is still work and can be exhausting. and, most importantly, i further realized the power that Master has over me. for as sexy as some of the scenes were, i felt oddly disconnected from them because i see things through the filter of Master. i know that many reading this probably think that's bullshit and would gladly drive right into a sea of horny porn stars, but i held no interest in being sexual with anyone in any way. i get turned on by what turns Master on and i feel very proud to say that, in possibly the most extreme of sexual situations, nothing but His pleasure ever entered my mind.

at one point, a co-worker and i were discussing watersports (you know...standard office chatter...) and i told him that Master requires it of me. he then started encouraging me to go get pissed on by one of the porn stars, which really annoyed me. after pondering, i realized it's because i hold no interest in ever doing such a thing unless Master was there and ordered it of me. i'd gladly do such a thing if it pleases and turns Him on but otherwise i have no interest. and i think that's beautiful. this experience helped me further realize that absolute control Master has over me and i how i truly exist, derive pleasure and find meaning through His control.

the next day, i curled on His lap as a puppy and had a wonderful, peaceful sunday.

black party weekend: set-up and the "hookies"

this past weekend, i worked the black party events with my new job. naturally, i documented my time there through photos for Master and, subsequently, for this blog. it was quite an interesting, fun and exhausting experience - i worked a 60+ hour work week due to it, leaving poor Master to fend for Himself. however, as you can see on His other blog, He treated Himself quite well in my absence.

i left work for the rose an ballroom around noon on friday. the place was slightly chaotic as they tried to get everything set up. the below pic is the scene I walked into. the thing in the middle was a giant set of lights that was later raised to the ceiling. in the middle were various acrobats testing out the support system - they later danced above the crowd. to the right of the pic is what later became the vip section and behind the light structure thing is the stage area:

this is the stage, set up for the "hookies," which is also known as the international escort awards. the presenters and winners were on the main stage. the areas to the side and the second top stage were all used for sex scenes and shows during the black party:

prior to the "hookies," as well as the next day, was the black party expo. basically, tons of porn studios and stars, as well as sex and fetish vendors, set up shop. various acts were rehearsing as well:

as the general public arrived, the red carpet events started up. i ended up running the vip section for a large portion of the evening, so i got to mingle with a bunch of "celebs," most of which I didn't really know because im awful with faces and names and not really "aware" of the big names in the adult industry. there were several porn guys, michael musto ( from "the village voice"), a couple guys from that a-list reality show on logo, leslie jordan ( who hosted the show), among others. it was fun to see robyn bird (pic below) because when Master and I first moved to nyc, we were often hypnotized by her late night show. for those who don't know, robyn bird has a local sex show on cable here and has since the mid 1980s. the government tried to shut her down and she became a major symbol against censorship because she fought it and won. coming from ohio, Master and i were so amazed that there was this random low quality, basic cable show that had men jerking and sucking one another off:

these are pics of the actual "hookies" award show, which acknowledges various escorts for various achievements, such as "best ass" and "best fetish." by the time the awards came, i was pretty tired. it was a long day. it was still a pretty interesting thing to observe though:

the day, in general, was a lot of fun and a lot of work. throughout the day, i was quite amazed that i was hit-on and complimented by various men, especially considering the place was awash with porn stars and escorts. in fact, i even had a few offers ;) however, as always, my existence was all about Master and only wish He was there to experience as well.

this was nothing compared to what i encountered on saturday...

Master's new blog!

for years, Master had a relatively popular vanilla blog that documented His thoughts and experiences in the city. He grew tired of it and didn't have enough time to continue it with the start of His graduate work. although the lack of a blog freed His time, i always thought He secretly missed it.

well, last week, Master created a new blog: things i put in my mouth. despite the intentionally suggestive title, this is a vanilla, foodie blog designed around His passion for food, the food He encounters and the incredible meals that He makes. there will be no dirty pics or discussion of U/us at all, simply because that's not the theme or the point. He is doing this as a journal to verbalize something He is passionate about and to indulge in the writing and photography of it.
